Rolex 5508 - 1958 - James bond original
An icon from the golden age of tool watches. This reference 5508 is one of the last true James Bond-style Submariners: no crown guards, a clean spider gilt dial, and that unmistakable vintage charm. Produced in the late 1950s, this is the last of the old style submariners.
The dial retains it's original radium which is very rare(this watch can NOT be taken to Rolex as it will be swapped by them for a non raidant service dial, be aware of this when purchasing this watch). The miniute and hour hand are service and insert as well. These hands are tritium but are aged heavily as well. Case is super thick and seems unpolished.
This example is running well, keeps time correctly, and comes on a soft leather strap to complete that vintage aesthetic. Rare, elegant, and historically important. Steel bracelet (not time matching) can be supplied on request.
